So I am a little confused. If Alfred John was Chair during the time that the admin building was being voted on, and he knew prior to his yes vote on the legalities, was is not his responsibility to make sure every commissioner was fully aware of this prior to the vote? If that is the case, is that not an ethics issue?
Yes, of course it would be his responsibility. I have not been able to look at ethics considerations yet. But it would seem an ethics violation. If not, it should be.
Thank you, Hank! You truly do amazing work! I read the entire article, which I didn’t have too much trouble following. However, have you considered leading off your articles with a summary of primary point bullets that synthesizes everything into bite-sized easily digestible information in an effort to grow the number of people who consume your content? Attention spans are poor these days so this could increase adoption. I realize this was unsolicited feedback, but I’ve been following emails you’ve sent to your subscribers for a while now and wanted to share this observation.
With that said, is there a chance this project can be halted? I feel sick considering that we as taxpayers are responsible for a massive project that has inherent legal issues, increases our property taxes, of which we never voted for and something 95% of residents won’t/can’t even use.
Thank you. My problem is time. You can imagine the time it took to put this article together. I would have to hire someone if I did any more work than I already do. That said, I will keep your comment in mind. Others have said the same thing.
Made the news... that's good news. Also sounds like the City isn't caving. How are the Commissioners going to fix this little problem? Looks like they already spent the $. What a travesty.
Keep publishing, Sullivan.
You must be over the target. How do we know that? Because Forsyth County’s establishment doesn’t want you to publish.
We need observers, investigators, and writers like you in every county. Cockroaches abhor light. 🔦🔦Amazing reporting Hank.
Thank you so much, Sandy! I agree.

I don’t understand how any of them could vote on this
Doesn't make much sense, does it?
Wasn’t the land originally purchased for a mental health facility?
Yes, the land is there.
And then the commissioners voted to do away with that plan and instead build a new building for county offices with a gym and rooftop lounge?
