Fake Mental Health Guru Todd Jones Votes Against Excellent Mental Health Awareness Bill
Todd Jones, One of Four Voting Against "No Downside" Mental Health Bill, Passes 159-4
Among members of our state legislature, there is one name above all others which has become synonymous with the presumed purpose of perfecting the mental health of Georgians in every hamlet, town, city or farmstead, whether mountain, foothill or coastal plain. And that name is, Todd Jones, the Representative from South Forsyth County’s 25th District.
Last week, however, Jones showed his true colors, proving to anyone paying attention, that his supposed concern for mental health is, with as much respect as I can muster, bull$hit. Todd Jones is an actor, playing a part he wants you to believe. Don’t believe it.
You see, Todd Jones just couldn’t stand it. He couldn’t deal with the fact that someone else sponsored a mental health bill, a bill truly designed to aid in the fight against mental illness in Georgia, at a granular level, but without creating a 1.5 billion dollar public industry unto itself; without the need of a multi-state police jurisdiction; without the need of Communist Chinese monitoring wristband devices, and without services paid by the state which only his company can provide, a bill which has worthwhile and achieveable goals, and provisions designed to make an immediate impact at the level of each individual student athlete in Georgia.
HB1104, a bipartisan bill sponsored by several Democrats including lead sponsor Omari Crawford, and also Representative Brent Cox (HD-28), a Republican from North Forsyth County, actually does something to fight mental illness, and it doesn’t spend tax money to achieve its goals.
HB1104 is an awareness bill. Awareness can mean the difference between life and death, or life after suffering a crippling injury. Awareness can mean everything to a young person when one considers the future of student athletes and the risks they take in high school athletics. Awareness means life-supporting, life-changing, life-saving knowledge. That kind of knowledge could be the power to live a long and happy life after injury, and leave a powerful legacy for future generations.
Without making a dent in anyone’s pocketbook, HB1104 actually does something good to promote mental health. There is no downside to HB1104. It doesn’t cost anything. And, frankly, maybe that is the problem, that and the fact that someone other than the great, fake mental health guru Todd Jones, had a good idea and worked on a bi-partisan basis to make the idea successful. HB1104 can do no harm. HB1104 is what political conservatism is all about. Are you ready to know what BH1104 does?
Here you go:
That’s it. That’s everything. HB1104 informs student athletes of particular risks of mental illness associated with high school athletics, and raises valuable awarness in the minds of vulnerable student athletes that help is available if it is needed. Who could be against that?
Todd Jones, Georgia’s fake mental health guru, is against it. It wasn’t his bill. It wasn’t his idea. It didn’t spend any money. It didn’t create wealth for special interests. It didn’t grow state government. Five Democrats who sponsored the bill are more conservative than so-called conservative Republican, Todd Jones. Todd Jones should resign.
Primary Todd Jones.
Glad to read your comments on this bill. We need to help the families of mental health citizens. The previuos bills were loaded with greed establishing an industrial component owned by it's definers.
